Optimised

  • Optimised system interface (UI) presentation
  • Improved automatic headlight on/off logic at night
  • Optimised voice prompts for driver-assistance systems
  • Charging pre-heating function improved to raise charging efficiency at low temperatures
  • More stable network connection with poor reception
  • Optimised Blind Spot Detection (BSD) display in the HUD (only vehicles with HUD)

New features#

BYD Assistant in additional languages#

The BYD Assistant voice control now also supports Danish, Dutch, Swedish and Hebrew.

Vehicle lighting#

A daytime running light switch has been added on the PAD (head unit); the DRL can be switched off when the gear selector is in “P”. On the head unit it appears as a ‘Daytime Running Light’ tile on the vehicle-control page.

Automatic headlight control at night has been optimised, depending on vehicle movement and power status.

Optimised voice prompts#

Adjustable volume for vehicle prompt tones with three levels (default: low); users can set the volume to their preference. On the head unit this is ‘Vehicle Prompt Volume’ (Low / Mid / High) under Settings → Vehicle → Notifications.

Driver-assistance prompts adjusted: ACC/ICC/DOW voice announcements are disabled, while the signal tone is retained.

Optimised HUD functions (only vehicles with HUD)#

Navigation information display: navigation information from Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is shown in the HUD (CarPlay supports Apple Maps only).

BSD (Blind Spot Detection) display improved: the symbol colours now match those in the instrument cluster.

Optimisations#

Optimised system UI display#

More harmonious layouts and improved translations.

Optimised charging pre-heating function#

Charging pre-heating optimised; the battery temperature can now be raised to approximately 25 °C.

Optimised seat-ventilation user experience#

Reduced noise from the seat ventilation.

Optimised TBOX performance#

Stable connection even with a weak network (for example in tunnels or underground car parks). Software conflicts that caused restarts have been eliminated. More precise vehicle location.

Route guidance in the vehicle navigation#

Automatic charging-stop route planning. Adjustable SOC thresholds for charging stops and arrival at the destination. The head-unit ‘Charging Preferences’ screen offers an ‘Automatically add charging stations’ toggle plus sliders for the remaining SOC on arrival at the charging station (shown at 20 %) and when leaving it (shown at 80 %).

Further optimisations#

Maintenance interval raised to 30,000 km. Echo problems during CarPlay calls resolved. Fault in the seat welcome function fixed. Improved energy management.

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V3.0.0 on a Sealion 7.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
