BYD Austria published this bulletin on 15 Dec 2025 for a roll-out in December 2025 – January 2026. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.

New features#
Linking the vehicle account with a memory function for customisable themes#
Mobile-app functions: log in to the mobile app via QR code and authorise the mobile-app key (requires BYD App version ≥ V2.8.0).
Vehicle-side account functions: QR-code log-in/log-out, personal information settings and personalisation settings. Integrated memory functions for seat, rear-view mirrors and electric steering column, customisable themes, ambient-lighting memory, cloud-key unlocking and account log-in (availability depends on the equipment of the individual model).
Personal information settings — change avatar: only locally stored images can be used.
Available in 32 countries: United Kingdom, Italy, Israel, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, Cyprus, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Malta, Romania, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Croatia, Czechia, Netherlands, Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Iceland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Austria, Estonia, Ireland.
Addition of cloud data management#
Enabled by default. Once the vehicle is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data), the system automatically uploads only the required, securely processed data to the cloud to ensure service quality and security.
The following three options can be viewed at any time and enabled or disabled individually under Settings > System settings > General > Cloud data management. The screenshots show them as ‘Cloud service app’, ‘Analysis and Service Improvement’ and ‘Network security’.
Addition of the energy consumption analysis function#
Energy consumption curve: the chart shows the equivalent energy consumption curve for the last 50 km of driving; the energy consumption distribution for that trip is calculated and shown below the chart. The statistics exclude energy consumed while parked and only contain energy consumed while driving. The distribution is displayed after about 1 km of driving.
Energy consumption distribution: the proportions of energy consumed over the last 50 km by Drive (energy consumed by the motor to drive), A/C (the air conditioning and its accessories), Electrical appliances (instrument, centre screen, lighting system and other on-board electrical consumers) and Others (Vehicle-to-Load, thermal management optimisation and other functions).
Activating the BYD Assistant from the steering-wheel controls while the screen is off#
Voice control buttons: when the screen is off, pressing the voice control button on the steering wheel wakes the screen and opens the voice bar.
Voice control added for switching off heating and ventilation modes#
New voice commands and responses: ‘Hi BYD, switch off heating’ → ‘Heating deactivated’; ‘Hi BYD, switch ventilation on/off’ → ‘Ventilation switched on/off’.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support added for selected countries#
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support is added for: Croatia, Romania, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Serbia.
Trailer-weight setting option added to towing mode#
The ‘Heavy load’ setting is selected by default.
Note: to ensure driving safety, the trailer weight should be selected correctly. The vehicle adapts its power strategy and speed limit to the trailer weight set. When towing heavy loads above 100 kg, the speed must not exceed 110 km/h.
The screenshots show the option under Settings > Vehicle > Driving Control > Towing Mode > Trailer Weight with two choices, ‘099 kg Small Load’ and ’1001300 kg Heavy Load’; the on-screen warning adds that the trailer weight must not exceed the vehicle’s maximum permitted towing capacity.
Optimisations#
Optimised radio-signal switching logic for a better user experience#
New radio functions: supports automatic switching between FM and DAB and searches on its own for alternative stations carrying identical content, to improve switching speed and stability when changing stations.
When the conventional broadcast signal is weak: automatic switch to streaming radio with identical content to ensure uninterrupted playback.
Optimised system UI display and text prompts#
Reset function added to the navigation-bar customisation screen.
Restore settings → Bluetooth is enabled by default afterwards.
Icons & themes: the map icon in the App Center does not adapt to theme skins; it only keeps the uniform rounded corners.
Navigation bar: with reverse gear engaged and the reversing camera active, the status bar can neither be pulled down nor tapped. In addition a mask is applied to the dock so that it cannot be tapped.
Optimised ICC deactivation conditions so that ICC can also be switched off when it is not active#
ICC switch rules: in the inactive state the switch can be turned off. Operation not permitted: tapping triggers the message ‘Please exit ADAS first.’
Exiting driver assistance: with ICC active, pressing the brake in any gear.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.1.0 on a Seal U DM-i.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
