New features#
Vehicle account linked to a memory function for customisable themes#
Mobile-app functions: log in to the mobile app via QR code; authorisation of the mobile-app key (requires BYD App version ≥ V2.8.0).
Vehicle-side account functions: QR-code login/logout, personal information settings and personalisation settings. Integrated memory functions for seat, mirrors and electric steering column, customisable themes, ambient-lighting memory, cloud-key unlocking and account login (availability depends on the model and equipment).
Online radio app TuneIn Radio added#
Introduces streaming radio as a complement to FM/DAB. Internet-based transmission improves reception in mountainous and remote areas and allows listening across regional borders.
Data-usage display for system services added#
A new entry “System services” (System Service) has been added at the end of the data-usage overview. This entry is permanently enabled and cannot be switched off (its toggle is greyed out). It only shows the data volume consumed by system services; it cannot be deactivated.
Optimisations#
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay optimised#
When Hi BYD is activated, the voice assistant is shown as an overlay on top of Apple CarPlay; CarPlay stays active and is not moved to the background.
Apple CarPlay’s light/dark mode is now synchronised automatically with the vehicle’s display settings, so the switch between day and night mode follows the vehicle settings.
Radio update logic optimised#
Album art for approved DAB stations can now be loaded over mobile data.
Duplicate DAB station names have been corrected.
The station list is refreshed automatically as soon as new stations are added.
Navigation-bar controls optimised for one-tap seat ventilation and seat heating#
The customisable Control tab of the navigation bar (Drag or tap the icon to add/delete) gains four new shortcuts: driver seat heating, front passenger heating, driver seat ventilation and front passenger ventilation. Before the OTA the available controls were Back, Split Screen, Steering Wheel Heating, Air Mode, A/C On/Off, Recent Tasks, Screen Rotation, Front Defrosting, Ventilate, Screen OFF, Circulation, Seats and Seat Adjustment.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.2.0 on a Seal.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
