BYD Austria published this bulletin on 29 Apr 2026 for a roll-out in May – June 2026. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.

New features#
Radio icon added to the App Center#
Before the OTA the App Center ended with the DAB+ tile. After the OTA a separate “Radio” icon appears next to DAB+, opening the FM radio screen with its station list and the currently tuned station.
TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#
Introduces streaming radio as a complement to FM/DAB. Internet-based transmission improves reception in mountainous and remote areas and allows listening across regional borders.
One-click account switching added to the Account Center#
If several accounts are signed in on the head unit, you can switch to another account with the account-switch button (“Change”). Before the OTA the Account Center offered only “Log Out”, after which the login screen with the BYD App QR code had to be used again.
Optimisations#
Optimised system UI presentation and text messages#
The background of the system cards (widgets) has been adapted to the vehicle design.
System cards (e.g. Music) now work fully with the music view on the home screen.
No more boot-opening confirmation in the shortcut bar (old platform).
No voice announcement when changing the sound mode; the karaoke pop-up is now called “Karaoke System”.
Optimised exit logic of the surround view#
If the panoramic view is activated via the gear positions P-R-D, the speed threshold at which it switches off is raised from >10 km/h to >15 km/h.
Optimised vehicle stability under certain driving conditions#
The intervention thresholds of DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) have been adjusted so that the systems intervene earlier.
In simple terms: DTC prevents the wheels from spinning under acceleration (e.g. on wet or slippery roads); EBD distributes braking force between the front and rear wheels so the vehicle stays stable.
Optimised Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality#
CarPlay reconnection interface – before: after leaving CarPlay for a non-CarPlay screen, CarPlay stays active in the background regardless of the reconnection method. After: a wired reconnection can be started from the CarPlay entry, which leads straight to the CarPlay interface.
Reconnection after a head-unit restart – before: automatic reconnection not supported, manual connection required. After: automatic reconnection supported, both after a restart via long-press of the power button and after the 24-hour restart.
CarPlay light/dark mode – before: follows the light switch and is not synchronised with the head unit’s light/dark mode. After: matches the head unit’s light/dark mode.
Activating “Hi BYD” inside CarPlay – before: CarPlay moves to the background and returns to the foreground when the voice assistant closes. After: CarPlay stays in the foreground and the “Hi BYD” pop-up is shown inside the CarPlay interface.
CarPlay and Android Auto desktop music card – before: not integrated into the music card and not shown when connected. After: integrated into the music card, shown when connected, and the volume can be adjusted there.
