Cloud data management added#

Switched on by default.

BYD takes the protection of your privacy and your data very seriously. As soon as the vehicle is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data), the system automatically uploads only the necessary, securely processed data to the cloud, in order to ensure service quality and safety.

The following three options can be inspected at any time and switched on or off individually under Settings > System settings > General > Cloud data management: Cloud service app, Analysis and Service Improvement, and Network security.

The in-car note adds that a network connection is required for cloud-based data processing, so Vehicle System Cellular Data must be switched on or Wi-Fi connected, otherwise the basic Vehicle System services cannot be provided; details are in the BYD Vehicle System Privacy Statement.

The three cloud-data toggles, all on by default.

The in-car explanation of what cloud processing requires.

BYD Assistant activated from the steering-wheel controls while the screen is off#

Voice control buttons: when the screen is switched off, pressing the voice control button wakes the screen and opens the voice bar.

Voice control added for switching heating and ventilation modes off#

“Hi BYD, switch the heating off” → “Heating deactivated”.

“Hi BYD, switch the ventilation on/off” → “Ventilation switched on/off”.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support added for selected countries#

Croatia, Romania, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Serbia.

Optimisations#

Android Auto & Apple CarPlay functionality optimised#

Android Auto: all functions are available in gear P. In all other gears only voice functions can be used. Video playback is not supported. Input method, settings and input length are no longer restricted in use.

CarPlay/Android Auto pop-up display rules: with reverse gear engaged and the reversing camera active, CarPlay/Android Auto pop-ups may not be covered. With reverse gear not engaged, or outside the reversing camera view, CarPlay/Android Auto pop-ups are displayed normally.

Notice for wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and Wi-Fi: if the user switches Wi-Fi on from the status bar while wireless CarPlay/Android Auto is in use, a pop-up notice is shown.

CarPlay interface — navigation logic: while the CarPlay interface is in use, tapping the App Center icon in the navigation bar sends CarPlay to the background. Tapping the App Center icon again reopens the CarPlay main interface.

Android Auto in split view, with search and media side by side.

Radio signal switching logic optimised to improve the user experience#

New radio functions: automatic switching between FM and DAB is supported, and the system searches on its own for alternative stations with identical content, in order to improve switching speed and stability when changing station.

With a weak conventional broadcast signal: automatic switch to streaming radio with identical content, to ensure uninterrupted playback.

System UI presentation and text notices optimised#

A reset function has been added to the customisation interface of the navigation bar.

Reset settings → Bluetooth is enabled by default.

Icons and themes: the map icon in the App Center does not adapt to the theme skins. It keeps only the uniform rounded corners.

Navigation bar: with reverse gear engaged and the reversing camera active, the status bar can neither be pulled down nor tapped. In addition, a mask is placed over the dock so that it cannot be tapped.

Restore settings is the reset that now leaves Bluetooth enabled.

ICC deactivation conditions optimised so that it can also be switched off when ICC is not active#

ICC switch rules: in the inactive state the switch can be turned off. Not permitted operation: tapping triggers the message “Please exit the ADAS first.”

Ending driver assistance: with ICC active, pressing the brake in any gear.

The message shown when the ICC switch cannot be operated.

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.0.0 on a Han.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
