New features#

Radio icon added to the App Center#

Before OTA the App Center (Application screen) had no dedicated Radio icon. After OTA a Radio icon appears next to DAB+ and opens the radio screen with the FM station list directly.

The screen the new Radio icon opens: the FM station grid with the current station on the right.

TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#

Launch of streaming radio as a complement to FM/DAB. Enables internet-based transmission and improves reception in mountainous and remote areas as well as listening across regional borders. TuneIn Radio is installed from the BYD Store.

TuneIn Radio listed first in the BYD Store at 17.9 MB, ready to install.

One-click account switching function added to the Account Center#

If several accounts are logged in on the head unit, you can switch to another account via the account switch button. Before OTA the Account Center only offered Log Out, after which the QR-code login screen had to be used to sign in again; after OTA a Change button sits next to Log Out.

Android Auto & Apple CarPlay options added to the desktop media widget#

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now offered as options in the media widget on the home screen. The screenshot shows an Apple CarPlay card next to the media card while CarPlay is connected.

The Apple CarPlay card now sits in the desktop media row; the status bar shows Apple CarPlay as the active source.

Optimisations#

Optimisation of the system UI display and text messages#

The background of the system cards (widgets) was adapted to the vehicle design.

System cards (e.g. Music) now work fully with the music view on the home screen.

No more boot-opening confirmation in the shortcut bar (old platform).

No voice announcement when changing the sound mode; the karaoke pop-up is now called “Karaoke System”.

Optimisation of the surround view exit logic#

If the panoramic view is activated via the gear positions P-R-D, the switch-off threshold is raised from above 10 km/h to above 15 km/h.

Optimisation of the navigation bar controls to support one-click adjustment of seat ventilation and seat heating#

The navigation bar customisation screen (Control tab) now offers Driver seat heating, Front passenger heating, Driver seat ventilation and Front passenger ventilation as shortcuts that can be dragged into the bar, so seat heating and ventilation can be adjusted with one tap.

Optimisation of the regenerative braking behaviour#

The difference in driving feel between strong and standard regenerative braking was increased to better meet the wish of some users for stronger regeneration. The page illustration is labelled “KI generiertes Bild” (AI-generated image).

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.2.0 on a Atto 3.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
